Emma is passionate about fostering a safe and strong therapeutic relationship, and adopts a collaborative and individualistic approach for each client. She aims to help clients understand their unique challenges and discover new ways of being that bring meaningful fulfilment to their lives. Emma has worked with clients experiencing anxiety and mood disorders, personality disorders, chronic pain, and childhood trauma.

Emma is fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Get to know Emma

Outside of her therapeutic work, Emma enjoys discovering new hiking trails, walking her dog, attending food and craft markets, and catching up on food shows on Netflix. She also loves finding obscure yarn stores and scouring Pinterest for inspiration for her next crochet project. Emma is currently completing a PhD in the area of social anxiety.

Emma believes in walking alongside her clients to help them understand their difficulties and find a way through to a more content and fulfilling life. She has special interests in the spectrum of anxiety and mood disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, and complex trauma.

Emma best enjoys combining a range of therapeutic approaches to suit the unique needs of her clients. She has training and experience delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Emma is also currently developing further skills in Schema Therapy.

Emma has completed a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Psychology and Gender Studies) (University of Sydney), a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours (Southern Cross University), and a Master of Clinical Psychology (Macquarie University). She is registered as a psychologist with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and is currently completing her clinical psychology registrar program.

What is a Registrar?

A Registrar is a Psychologist who has completed 6 years of university training and 2 years practical experience. Subsequent to this each Registrar has to have a supervisor for 2 years in order to become a fully registered Clinical Psychologist. Emma is taking these 2 years at Equilibrium.

Availability

Emma is available Mondays and Thursdays including After Hours and Online Sessions.
