Tamara is a warm and empathetic psychologist dedicated to supporting and empowering clients in a safe and collaborative environment. With a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University, Tamara brings experience from both the private and public health sector where she provided individual, group and family therapy for a wide range of complex issues. In her practice, Tamara uses a person-centred and culturally sensitive approach, integrating evidence-based therapies to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. She holds a profound respect for the therapeutic journey, recognising the resilience and courage it takes for clients to seek help and engage in the process of change and growth.

Get to know Tamara


Coming from a multicultural background and having lived in Indonesia, China and the United States, Tamara is inspired by the richness of diverse perspectives and aims to bring cultural sensitivity and empathy into her work with every client.

Tamara has worked across a variety of settings, including an inpatient mental health unit, a community mental health centre, the emergency department of a major Sydney hospital, and within a university clinic. These experiences have consisted of providing individual, group and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.

Tamara takes a collaborative and person-centred approach in therapy, working with clients to make them feel heard and supported on their journey of change and growth. Her therapeutic style integrates evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, and Schema Therapy.

To balance her life, Tamara enjoys attending concerts, playing netball, watching documentaries, exploring coffee shops, and socialising with friends and family. Her perfect day would be lounging in the sunshine anywhere near the ocean… with good music and dogs. Lots of dogs.

Tamara completed a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University. She is registered as a psychologist with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) and is a member of the APS (Australian Psychological Society).

What is a Registrar?

A Registrar is a Psychologist who has completed 6 years of university training and 2 years practical experience. Subsequent to this each Registrar has to have a supervisor for 2 years in order to become a fully registered Clinical Psychologist. Steph is taking these 2 years at Equilibrium.


Availability

Tamara is available Mondays and Tuesdays including After Hours, and Online Sessions.
