Ellen has completed a Master of Clinical Psychology at University of Technology Sydney and is currently a PhD candidate. She is a compassionate, empathetic, and warm clinician who adopts both an evidence-based and personalised approach to therapy. Drawing on a range of psychological modalities, Ellen is a client-centred psychologist who values collaboration, safety, and respect within the therapeutic relationship in order to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. She strives to support clients with reflexivity, self-discovery and growth, and skill development.

Ellen has an interest in supporting clients with a range of presentations, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and eating concerns. She also has experience and passion working with relationship concerns, family relationships, self-harm, perfectionism, and emotion regulation. Ellen approaches therapy with curiosity, striving to empower individuals to build a full and meaningful life.

With a longstanding passion for supporting the development and wellbeing of individuals, Ellen completed a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours at The University of Sydney and Master of Clinical Psychology at University of Technology Sydney.

Through her studies, Ellen has gained a range of experience in delivering individual and group-based therapy. She has experience working in a university clinic, a child and family-based practice, and outpatient hospital settings. Ellen adopts a number of evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. She is committed to continued expansion of her skills and knowledge. Ellen enjoys working with clients with a range of presentations, experiences, and goals.

Outside work, Ellen enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her pet bunny. She loves creative outlets including art, dance, movies, reading and games. Ellen is currently completing her PhD, exploring mental health difficulties in dancers, and has a special interest in this population.

What is a Registrar?

A Registrar is a Psychologist who has completed 6 years of university training and 2 years practical experience. Subsequent to this each Registrar has to have a supervisor for 2 years in order to become a fully registered Clinical Psychologist. Ellen is taking these 2 years at Equilibrium.


Availability

Ellen is available Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays including After Hours, and Online Sessions.
