Josie has completed a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Canberra. She is compassionate and genuine, and uses a therapeutic approach based on respect, humour, curiosity, and exploration of individuals' goals and values. Josie works collaboratively with clients to help them enact positive changes in their lives, by highlighting existing strengths and supports. Josie understands that starting therapy can feel like a big step, and with this in mind, she endeavours to take onboard any feedback to help clients get as much out of therapy as possible.
Josie has an interest in supporting individuals with a range of presentations, including anxiety, OCD, depression, stress, burnout, in addition to relationship and body image concerns. She has experience working with adolescents, families, and adults across public, community, and private health settings, and draws from modalities with a strong evidence-base, primarily Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom ”
